I'm a technical PM, but I'm still very much a networking novice. Starting on 9/16 I started to experience frequent connection drops on my network that would manifest as disconnects from video chat/laggy VOIP/or "DNS Probe Finished No internet" errors coming up in my browser. This happened across 5 machines one pc on lan, a laptop on 2.4ghz, a laptop on 5ghz and two phones on 2.5ghz. Streaming video from hulu/netflix experienced constant drops
I changed all cables, factory reset my router, changed power cable and still was dropping packets.
ISP confirmed there would be upgrades in my area on 9/24 and I was instructed to call back if the issue persisted. It did and I did. Modem swap with no improvement. My ISP came out and replaced some cables and measured no packet loss over 15k packets directly into the modem, but said he did see dropped pings behind my router. On Saturday 9/26 I installed OpenWRT over the top of my stock firmware and configured ping tests to google and was able to verify that I was getting dropped packets.
At this point I'm considering router failure, but I can't find any examples of routers failing this way. I can continuously ping the router with no connection loss, heat never passes 70c, failure doesn't correspond to any router usage spikes.
Starting around Sunday 9/27 the connection largely cleared up. I'm not experiencing any more browser disconnects and streaming video works fine. However, MSFT Teams (VOIP) is still experiencing significant lag and disconnects. When running a continuous ping to 8.8.8.8 from both the device it's running on (work laptop on 5GHZ) and my personal desktop on 1GHZ lan both connecting experience a temporary timeout that directly corresponds with the audio dropping.
I read up on bufferbloat and DSLreports shows me a bufferbloat that goes all the way up to 3000ms. What gives? There are only 7 devices on my network and none are new. I've read that bufferbloat can be caused at the ISP level in add8ition to a locally congested network. During the day we're not doing anything intensive just web browsing and music streaming from 3 pcs and two phones. While I can't confirm I didn't have bufferbloat before, I never had the VOIP dropouts before.
More interestingly, I configured SQM and with Cake running on eth1.2(WAN,WAN6) it brings my peak bufferbloat down to 6ms but halves my download speed from the configured 430,000 kbit/s. fq_codel brings my speed up to 406mbit at the expense of bufferbloat around 10ms with some spike much higher, but overall much lower than without.
Putting aside the fine tunings of the SQM, why might my system be benefitting from QOS settings all of a sudden? Is it old age catching up to my router, is QOS masking something on my ISP side, or could one of my devices be going rogue and locking down the network?
I have tried isolating everything and can't find a specific device causing issues, but I'm far from an expert. Sorry for the wall of text, but hopefully the context is useful.

Oh lords of overclocking, please help me! (poor benchmark results after OC on ASUS Maximus X with i7-9700k)

Dear Reddit OCers
I don’t have a lot of experience with OC, this is the second time I am doing it and I am pulling out my hair trying to understand why my result is not good.
Previously I had an ASUS Prime z270 motherboard with an i7-7700k overclocked to 4.9ghz, and I got a realbench score of around 110k.
Now I’ve upgraded to a Maximus X Hero (Wifi) Z370 board with an i7-9700k overclocked to 5.0ghz and my realbench scores are around 90k.
The 7700k ran hot (around 90 degrees max during realbench stress test), and the 9700k now has a EKWB custom waterblock that cools the VRMs and MOSFETs also, and runs cooler (about 83 degress max during realbench stress test).
All other hardware (RAM, GTX1080, SSDs, 600 watt Power Supply, case and custom water cooling loop) are the same. Even the windows installation is the same.
The 7700k used XMP settings, with the 9700k I’ve manually overclocked the RAM. (G.Skill TridentZ F4-3200C16D-16GTZR DDR-3200 CL16-18-18-18 1.35v Hynix CJR 3600)
All is working stable, I am able to pass 8 hours of realbench stress testing. Using Realbench v2.56.
Windows is set for “Ultimate Performance” power plan when running the realbench stress test and benchmark.
HWINFO shows the processors are running 5ghz and does not show any thermal throttle happening.
What is interesting that I can keep the 5.0ghz quite stable with 0 AVX offset and a reasonable temp but I find it impossible to go to 5.1ghz (even with AVX offset of 1) without significantly increasing VCORE to 1.40 and getting much higher temperatures, so I’m sticking with 5.0ghz).
Anyway my main question is why my realbench result is so bad (usually between 90k-100k). Here’s the results of my last run:
